By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests, the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them and indeed she exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ.
Sickness and advancing age are occasions for this sacrament. If anyone is seriously ill, the office should be notified and the sacrament will be bestowed upon request. Regular visits and communion are taken to those in the hospital, nursing homes, or those unable to leave their own homes. Due to the Health and Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), hospitals are not allowed to provide lists of patients unless the patient or responsible party gives permission by completing all necessary forms upon admittance. Catholic priests, Deacons, Sisters, Brothers or other Church ministers will not be able to provide spiritual visits or sacraments, such as Anointings, Baptisms, Reconciliation, and the Holy Eucharist without your written permission.
Priests at Sacred Heart Parish can perform this Sacrament for those in need. Call the Pastoral Center for more information
