Families Connecting with Christ are the virtual religious education meetings for the 2020-2021 school year at 6:30 pm on the third Wednesday of every month for children and their families. In light of the current pandemic and the Bishop's updated pastoral directive, all public gatherings have been suspended until further notice. So we are having community online instead! When the directive and guidelines allow us to meet in person again, parents will have the opportunity to bring their children to the church for their religious education. The program used this year is: "Faith and Life Series" from Ignatius Press. The format we use at Sacred Heart is "My Catholic Faith Delivered" which is an online format. This program offers our students grade K through 8th, a thorough grounding in Catholic doctrine. In light of salvation history, students learn about the Sacraments, morality, social teaching, and the Church's life and mission. For more information about Religious Education or to register your child(ren), go to the Religious Education page of our website at: https://www.sacredheartwf.org/religious-education or contact Religious Education Coordinator Monica Robinson at 940-723-5288 or email her at ReligiousEd@sacredheartwf.org.
Today on World Day of Vocations, which is also known as Good Shepherd Sunday, we take up the Good Shepherd Sunday special collection for the Diocesan Seminarian Education Fund. Seminarians have responded to God’s call and will one day shepherd us on our faith journey. We have an opportunity to be a help to them on their discernment journey. Please prayerfully consider supporting them on their discernment journey by giving generously in envelopes located on collection containers in our church, online or by text through Faith Direct or online directly through the diocese at bit.ly/DioceseSpecialCollections.
