Pope Francis declared that the First World Day for for Grandparents and the Elderly would be Sunday, July 25, 2021, for Catholics around the world. Sacred Heart Parish joins in solidarity with the rest of the Church in celebrating our living Grandparents and Elderly and remembering our deceased Grandparents and Elderly and the blessing they are to us this Sunday, July 25. The Sacred Heart Mission Council has a People Remembrance Book in the atrium of our church. Parishioners are invited to write the names of our grandparents and elderly deceased in the book. We will pray for these people during Mass.
You can also call the church office at 940-723-5288 to become a part of a new project called the St. Anne & St. Joachim Group, who will write cards to the parish elderly and sick. You could also celebrate the day by visiting or calling your grandparents or elderly friends and family.
